We always welcome assistance from volunteers with spreading the word about our organization. One easy way to do this is to refer friends, acquaintances, and family to our website. If you would like to help raise funds in other ways, please consult with us through email at chanda@animalreliefeffort.org. I understand it is important to get approval before soliciting donations as the organizations needs to ensure requests are appropriate, required permits are obtained, and that donations are appropriately acknowledged.

C.A.R.E for Service Members - Volunteer Opportunities

We feel that donation of a person's time and talents is just as important as a donation of goods or financial support. We appreciate those who can meet those volunteer needs, and could not provide the level of service possible without help from those dedicated individuals. If you would like to support the organization through are volunteer program, we have a variety of opportunities available. Please fill out our volunteer application to join the fun!

Ways to Volunteer

  • Foster a pet.
  • Screen potential Foster applicants.
  • Work a fund raising event.
  • Chair a fund raising event.
  • Transportation services- transport pets to foster homes, appointments, etc.
  • Office work, such as mailings or database entry.
  • Inventory management- maintaining and distributing donations such as food, litter, etc.
  • Community outreach, such as staffing information tables at events.
  • Donation services- soliciting prizes/donations for events, picking up donated items, etc.
  • Volunteer management- coordinating and soliciting volunteers, management of a volunteer database, etc.

When representing C.A.R.E it is important to present yourself in a proper and professional manner. As a volunteer you may be speaking or meeting with service members and their families, going to facilities, talking with media, etc. I agree that professionalism is important when representing C.A.R.E. and I will speak sincerely and exhibit mature behaviors.

We have the right to revoke volunteer privileges at any time if rules or regulations are not followed.

There may be certain risks involved when working with animals. These include, but are not limited to, being bitten, scratched, bruised, etc. I am fully aware that there are many risks and dangers involved in participation with being a volunteer and I understand C.A.R.E. is not responsible having not met the pet personally. Encounters may result in injury, damage to personal property, death, etc.

I am aware of the potential dangers that I may encounter while volunteering. I agree that I, my family member, nor any relation will attempt to sue or make a claim against this organization if any harm were to come to me or my personal belongings.

There also may be risks associated with the service you are voluntarily providing the organization. I will be legally and financially responsible, and will pledge to hold the organization harmless from my own acts and liabilities relating to the service I am voluntarily providing.

Since we may need you to interact with animals, both big and small, it is important for you to inform us of your limitations. I will disclose any physical or psychological limitations to the organization members immediately.

I recognize that any misrepresentation of facts will result in losing fostering privileges. As a matter of due diligence, C.A.R.E may perform a criminal background check on all adults residing within a foster home residence. I understand that these foster animals do not belong to me or my family and I am providing a caring, loving, and stable home for a service member's beloved pet. I understand that any foster animal in my care may be removed from my home at any time with or without reason by or on the authority of C.A.R.E's board. I agree to notify C.A.R.E of any concerns, updates, or if the pet needs medical attention. I also understand the importance of keeping in contact with the service member and/or service members' family while I am fostering their pet.

This application will be regarded as an expression of interest, not a commitment or acceptance to serve as a foster home. Any personal information provided to our organization is not shared outside of C.A.R.E and is considered confidential. Most of our communication is done via email. If you are submitting your application please check your email frequently so that you can respond to any questions or concerns we may have. Failure to respond within 72 hours will indicate to us that you are no longer interested.

Please notify your vet's office that an application has been submitted for fostering an animal for C.A.R.E. They may need permission to release general information about you andyour pet care history to a C.A.R.E representative.
